Job Description:

As a Business development specialist you will be responsible for developing new potential clients for the company. You will be working both in the field and the office as you develop strategies for business development, meet with new potential clients and maintain positive relationships with existing clients.  You will ensure that all business development specialist responsibilities are completed effectively and are executed in a timely manner.

  1. Research and business development
  2. Develop new market information from a broad range of industries worldwide
  3. Identify, collect, and analyze data and trends
  4. Define and align new market requirements with existing product capability
  5. Develop lists of target companies and/or individuals for direct business development
  6. Review and validate pricing strategies based on market conditions
  7. Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market needs and trends
  8. Sales and customer retention
  9. Engage potential new customers through a variety of methods : Networking, cold calling or any other means of engaging potential new customers
  10. Plan and execute persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential customers to do business with the company
  11. Conduct sales calls, follow up leads, and negotiate sales conditions
  12. Conduct periodic travel to customer sites
  13. Report and track sales activities
  14. Nurture, build and maintain relationships with new customers
  15. Assist and train field agents where applicable
  16. Participate in after-sales support
  17. Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  18. Engage in the design & improvement of existing and new products

  1. Strong motivation and commitment to find and cultivate new customers, using personal initiative and drive to succeed
  2. Positive and tenacious aptitude in closing sales
  3. Excellent attention to detail, time management, organization and prioritization skills
  4. Exceptional research and strategic analysis skills
  5. Verbal, written and presentation skills to effectively communicate technical knowledge
  6. Bachelor’s degree in business management or other business related discipline
  7. Minimum of 3-5 years experience in business-to-business sales with a strong emphasis on business development
  8. Ability to travel as required
